Artist Bio

Georgette Sinclair is a Doctor of Audiology with a Master of Science and a Doctoral Degree in Audiology. Alongside her professional achievements, she is an award-winning New York artist whose work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is admired and collected worldwide.

Born in Romania, Georgette began her artistic journey in early childhood, attending drawing and painting classes at the public School of Art in her home country. She later refined her skills at the Art Students League of New York and through various art workshops in the United States and abroad.

Now a long-time resident of Roosevelt Island, Georgette draws endless inspiration from her surroundings. “I am still fascinated today by the beauty surrounding us as much as the first time I stepped on the island,” she shares. Her work, created primarily in pastels, captures the poetic essence of nature, transforming ordinary scenes into sublime landscapes and cityscapes. From golden fields and lavender in bloom to the magic of winter or the view from her window, her art reflects the mood of the moment and the light that illuminates it. Traveling also fuels her creativity, as do recent joyful experiences with her granddaughters, which add warmth and tenderness to her work.

Georgette has been a member of the Salmagundi Club of NYC since 2001, where she served as 3rd Vice President for four years and remains an active member of the Art Committee. She is also an active member of the Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association (RIVAA), and has served as a board member and treasurer for 15 years. Additionally, she is an associate member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA) since 2019, a member of the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club of NY since 2013, and an elected member of the Allied Artists of America since 2019.

Every piece of Georgette’s art carries a piece of her soul, telling a story that resonates deeply with viewers and celebrates the eternal beauty of the natural world.
